How We Work

The La Luz board and committee chairs meet once a month to report on the general business of the chapter. At this board meeting, a list of topics and activities is prepared for the general membership to discuss and vote on if needed. A general membership meeting is held for everyone including guests on the the last Thursday of each month. At this meeting, we welcome a guest speaker to share business relevant information. We also serve dinner and have a social networking session. Please join us and learn all about ABWA.

Why Join ABWA?

“The La Luz league of ABWA is a safe place to grow personally and professionally through networking, education and leadership opportunities. It will help you take that next step in life that may seem overwhelming or unattainable. The bonus is that you’ll be surrounded by women lift you up and cheer you on. We’re all on this journey together so let’s be our best selves and enjoy it- and each other- along the way.”

~Michelle Lewis

"I joined, rather than attend meetings as a guest, because I wanted to make a commitment to myself and my business. I also wanted to take a more active role in the league, because I believe in the mission and want to see it thrive."

~Raina Barnes

"The women of La Luz are so talented.  They are educators, scientists, designers, administrators, artists, specialists of many fields, financial planners and the list goes on and on.  I love that I can learn from each one of them as we all strive to help each other and all women continue to grow."

Edwinna Walker

"La Luz is a truly local organization. The women of ABWA La Luz live, work and socialize right here in New Mexico. Our businesses and families are rooted in NM communities. We love New Mexico and are proud to say we are NM True!"
